In one unit we did work with decimals. To show our understanding our teacher had us look through magazines and find a minimum of 6 items. All of our items had to be as close to $100.00 as possible. I managed to get $99.96!

This is a snapshot I took of my math test, I thought I did well on it so I decided to post a picture of it on my website.

Learning Intention: I can demonstrate my understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of decimal numbers.

What I learned: In this math unit I learned many things, how to divide and multiply with decimals, and that when adding and subtracting you LINE UP the decimal.

I am so proud of my math test I decided to publish it onto my website!

On this post I am going to tell you the divisibility rules for 3,9 and 6.

Rule for 3: To find out if a number is divisible by 3, you must add the digits of the number you have in mind together. Then if 3 is a factor of the sum, the whole number is divisible by 3.
(ex. 1821- 1+8+2+1=12- 3 is a factor of 12 so 1821 is divisible by 3).

Rule for 9: (Same as the rule for 3). To find out if a number is divisible by 9, you must add the digits of the number together. Then if 9 is a factor of the sum, the whole number is divisible by 9
(ex. 3726- 3+7+2+6=18 9 is a factor of 18 so 3726 is divisible by 9).

Rule for 6: For a number to be divisible by 6 the number must be divisible by both 2 and 3 as well. Which means it must be even and you must add the digits of the number together and see if its divisible by 3.
                                                          (ex. 9144-Even-divisible by 2
                                                          (9+1+4+4= 18- divisible by 3)---> 9144 is divisible by 6

In math we are learning about Divisibility, so far we have learned the rules for 10, 5, 2, 3, 9, and 6 but in this post I will only tell you the rules for 10, 5, and 2.

Rule for 10: For a number to be divisible by 10 the number must have a zero in the ones place. (ex. 15440)

Rule for 5: For a number to be divisible by 5 the number must have either a five or  zero in the ones place. (ex. 2845, or 1840)

Rule for 2: For a number to be divisible by 2 the number must have a even number
in the ones place. (ex. 1938)
